ThreadSpace: Hyperbol takes place in the distant future where humanity's technological evolution has been jumpstarted by vast amounts of alien technology. Humanity quickly adopted the technology and expanded into the epicenter of the technology known as the Hub Sector.

For a while, humanity experienced a time of utopia by embracing the new technology as the savior of their species. However, it was too much of an advancement too quickly and mankind was not ready for it. They lost control and the civilization they had created in the Hub Sector erupted into chaos. During this time, Factions arose to seize power, and after 2 years of fighting, they were at a stalemate. The Factions became desperate and recruited anyone they could find to fight their war. The war has been going on too long and negotiation is not an option.
